Great Idea!
New features and options in the Control Center of iOS 11
The Control Center in iOS 11 looks and acts quite differently than prior versions. It is now one long side panel. Other than a few permanent buttons, you have the option to customize it for your needs. Along with standard toggles for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc… there are 18 additional controls you can add. Go to Settings – Control Center – Customize Controls. A list of options will show up with a green + to add an option, or red – sign to delete it.
Tip of the month
Check your version of CCleaner
CCleaner is a very favorite free download. The free version does an excellent job of cleaning temporary files, fixing the registry, checking to see what is it the startup of your computer, and many other great utilities. It is easily available at www.cnet.com/downloads. HOWEVER, the company (Piriform) which makes this software was hacked and malicious code was installed in CCleaner. The problem has been fixed, but I would advise you to check your version and uninstall and reinstall with a newer edition depending on what you find. The “hack” took place around August 15, 2017. If you installed the program prior to that, you are safe. The infected version is 5.33.
Here’s how to check your computer: Open the program and look at the very top of your window. Underneath the words “CCleaner Free”, you will see a version. Mine is v5.26.5937. As soon as I opened the program, it offered to download the new version. Play it safe and do that.
