Besides giving you directions from to get from one point to another, Google Maps can help in a variety of situations. Here are a couple:
It can be overwhelming in a busy airport, train station or even a shopping mall when you are in an unfamiliar city. Type its name in the search box, then scroll down towards the bottom of the screen. To the right of the Overview, you will see Directory. This is great if you need to find a place for food, or a specific store if you are in the mall. You can also find floor location, lounges, parking areas, and business hours.
After opening Google Maps, tap the Restaurants button at the top of the screen. When you type in the name of a restaurant you’d like to try, you will see a pop-up window. From there you may have an option to reserve a table or for some restaurants, you can check the wait time. Others may even give you an option to join a waitlist.

How to lock and hide an app on your iPhone
It’s not uncommon for someone to borrow your iPhone. I’m referring to a child/grandchild/friend who wants to use it temporarily. We are all willing to help, but there may be apps you don’t want them to open. There is an easy way to lock the app. You must have iOS 18 installed on your phone.
1. Long press an app. 2. Tap Require Face ID. 3. Tap Require Face ID again.
There are some apps that cannot be locked – Camera, Find My are examples. Most apps from the App Store can be locked this way. Third party apps such as Instagram and X (Twitter) can be hidden in the same way. Just choose Hide and Require Face ID .
If you want to unhide or remove a lock from an app, long press on the app, tap Don’t Require Face ID and enter your Face ID or passcode.
